Dream It Forward Foundation created Bloom Residence to solve a problem too many systems avoid: what happens to youth when there is nowhere safe, stable, and permanent to land?

Bloom Residence is a long-term residential home for unhoused and unsupported youth ages 8–25 who have no family placement options. This is not foster care. Youth are not adopted or cycled through placements. They stay until they transition into college housing or independent adulthood — with continued support along the way.

This is where survival turns into stability. And stability turns into self-sufficiency.
The Crisis
Youth homelessness has reached emergency levels:

4.2 million youth experience homelessness each year in America.

100,000+ NYC public school students are currently unhoused or housing-insecure.

Too many young people bounce between shelters, unsafe situations, or temporary placements.

Young women, students aging out of systems, and teens of color are disproportionately affected.

Bloom Residence creates what the current system fails to provide:

Youth will live at Bloom from the time they arrive until they graduate high school and move into college dorms or independent living.
